Luke 14:1-6
The world is watching Christians to see what will make us lose control. We must always believe that God is in control.
In the text, Jesus had been invited to hang out with people He knows doesn’t like Him…and He actually showed up. Jesus’ enemies expected Him to lose His cool and put Himself in a bad situation. Instead, He controlled the situation and even healed someone , showing us how Christians should conduct themselves when put in situations.
Some people won’t like YOU because you are you. Your strength reminds your enemies of their weaknesses and of things they cannot do. When God allows you to receive an invitation from your enemies, it’s our Christian obligation to show up. God is giving you an opportunity to teach your enemies what they need to learn and to show that He is present in ALL situations.
No matter what situation God puts you through, don’t ever lose control of yourself because your enemies can only hurt you when you give them control over you. Pray to God to help you maintain control of your head and your heart. When you control yourself, you can control your situations.
