Nehemiah 6:1-4
I….Nehemiah was rebuilding a wall to protect his people. When he was almost done,
the people he was protecting them from came and asked him to come down and talk
to them, but they intended him harm.
____If you are doing a good work, don’t you dare come down (Don’t stop what you are doing).
II….When someone tries to stop you from doing good work that God has put on your heart
by asking you to come down to them, ask them “Come down for what?” When people try to call
you down off the wall it is because their evil plans do not fit into your agenda.
____People try to call you down off the wall to talk to them so they can get an
angle on your plan so they can find a way to exploit your plan.
III….Sometimes people stop doing something because an obstacle is in their way, but some obstacles need to be run over so you can continue doing God’s work.
_____Don’t come down off the wall when doing God’s work because someone calls you down. Focus on building the wall. Don’t stop your good work for ungodly things (i.e. pettiness, gossip, grudges, someone not liking you, etc.)
IV….Righteousness indignation is okay when someone is getting in the way of God’s plan. They are being an obstacle, so run that obstacle over.
_____God is calling you to do something better than before and to be better than you were before. Don’t look back, keep moving forward. Your future is brighter than your past.
